President Joe Biden visited a Queens public school Thursday to discuss violence intervention programs.
This all comes with addressing the gun violence that has been rocking our communities. The president met with school staff as well as the nonprofit Community Capacity Development at P.S. 111.
They discussed what the group is doing to limit gun violence and just violence in general at the school and how the federal government can use those strategies to help the city combat violence.
The visit was more of a conversation between the principal and gun violence interrupters discussing resources that have been useful as well as resources that may be needed as they continue working to tackle violence.
City leaders are hoping to work with Biden on a plan he announced Thursday to reduce gun violence in the city.
