Creepy clown incidents and threats across the country including in the Bronx are worrying professional clowns who say they are being stigmatized by the recent phenomenon.
Clown Damaris Rodriguez said at an outreach event that it has been harder than usual bringing joy and entertainment to children, making business difficult.
Professional clowns plan on hosting more community outreach events and said they hope to work with the NYPD to help regulate the profession.
Last week, police said a clown chased a teenager with a knife at the 96th Street No. 6 train station in Manhattan.
