In Castle Hill, one organization is turning simple wishes into unforgettable Christmas memories. On Christmas morning, Project Club Clemente hosted its annual toy distribution, bringing smiles to children and relief to families across the neighborhood.
Gifts were delivered to children enrolled in YMCA after-school programs. They also collaborated with the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors. For Leonarda Diaz, the day was especially meaningful. Her daughter’s Christmas wish wasn’t complicated; it was practical.
“Last week, my daughter asked for a jacket, and they gave her the exact one she wanted,” Diaz said. “Everything is possible when we believe.”
Her daughter, Jocelyn Maldonado, couldn’t hide her excitement.
Founder Eliezer Rodriguez stepped in as Santa for the day, helping deliver gifts alongside volunteers he calls his elves. He says the goal is simple: to give back and remind families they’re supported.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to know you put a sparkle in some families’ eyes during this joyous time of year,” Rodriguez said.
Children eagerly opened their presents, some excited over toys, others over simpler needs like socks.
