Community members and organizers gathered together for a Black Trans Lives Matter rally on Sunday.
The protesters marched past Brooklyn Borough Hall, where they said their voices can be heard and where they hope the city can enact change on a local level.
This demonstration was organized by the same protesters who put together a similar one on June 14.
For several weeks in a row, organizers have been meeting on the corner of Washington Street and Water Street with signs.
This week, organizers said they wanted their focus to be to fight for the rights of Black trans lives.
They say Black trans people around the country are subject to discriminatory treatment, racism and transphobia.
The protest started at 4 p.m.
