Rally held against proposed bill allowing minors to seek medical attention without parental consent

Community members are up in arms against a proposed bill that would allow minors to seek medical attention without their parent's consent.
A rally took place outside of Assembly Member Karina Reyes' office, where residents held signs saying things like "It's a parent's right to choose."
"During your teenage years, your rebellious years, I remember thinking that my mom didn't know anything," said mother Sophy Medina. "Looking back, I'm so grateful I had a mom that was there to guide me and advise me."
Many other concerned parents are putting their foot down against the proposed Bill A6761, which is backed by Reyes.
"There's minor within our state who can already consent, who already have this right," said Reyes, alluding to runaways and homeless minors. "We're trying to caputre a very small fraction of young people who are currently falling through the cracks."
Reyes says that minors would be able to consent to things like flu shots or Tylenol, and says that she is open to speaking with community members further about this bill proposal.
