Ramadan ends with virtual celebrations in New York City
Ramadan, the month of intense prayer and fasting for Muslims around the world, is ending with a virtual celebration as New York City is on lockdown due to the pandemic.
Last year, nearly 3,000 people joined together in Claremont Park to celebrate Eid al Fitr. They participated in prayer together, followed by music and food.
This year, people will be praying together through Zoom. Members of the community tell News 12 that their prayers are going to health care and essential workers, as well as praying for the pandemic to end.
