Some residents in Riverdale say a developer has not been honest about his plans for a historic building.
According to the Department of Buildings, the owners of 3295 Palisade Ave., known as Villa Rosa Bonheur, originally filed for a permit to "alter the existing dwelling."
The permit allowed the seven-unit building to be converted into an 11-unit building, and perform interior work as well.
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz says residents started noticing that more substantial work was being done to the building that's been there for about 90 years.
The developers informed the community that they filed an additional application with the Department of Buildings for a complete demolition.
The Department of Buildings says that the application for demolition has not yet been approved.
