“You can't park here!” That’s what several angry residents tell News 12 after they say a car dealership in Riverdale uses the sidewalk to park cars.
Residents say Riverdale Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram monopolizes the sidewalk for its cars.
One resident says the sidewalk at 5869 Broadway in Riverdale should be for walking and not for cars.

"This sidewalk is for everybody, it doesn’t belong to the business," says resident Armenoush Aslanian-Perisco.

News 12 spoke to the store's manager, who says none of the cars on the sidewalk are there for sale. He says trucks drop them off in the morning, with shipments typically coming in with nine vehicles at a time.
He says when staff gets in, they try to move them onto their lot as soon as possible. However, residents say that doesn't happen.

"I'm just asking for them to stop parking the car on the sidewalk. It’s illegal. It also is bad for our neighborhood. Pedestrians shouldn’t have to share a sidewalk with parked cars,” says Aslanian-Perisco.

News 12 cameras caught some people walking around the vehicles parked on the sidewalk.
The store's manager says he is doing his best to move the vehicles in a timely manner.

Riverdale Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram says it is not unusual for other dealerships across the city to have similar practices when it comes to getting new inventory.
