A dance bar in Brooklyn wants to transport visitors to the days of disco, soul and rock 'n' roll.
Gerard Renny is the co-owner of Ethyl's, a Williamsburg bar inspired by the 1970s. After living through the glitz and glam of Studio 54, Renny wanted to create a space that felt nostalgic to that era.
Footage from the iconic nightclub even plays on a projector by the dance floor.
Ethyl's is decked out with '70s memorabilia and serves savory bites that were popular at the time. The space also has a backroom where people can dance the night away while enjoying weekly performances.
Renny says he hopes patrons leave feeling like they've stepped right out of a time capsule.
