Crews from the Department of Sanitation
will be out all day to ensure roads are safe during today’s nor’easter.
DSNY Commissioner Edward Grayson says the focus is for plows to continue on
their routes and spreading salt to clear roadways as much as they can.
Grayson says the consistency of the snowfall will be the biggest challenge,
with forecasters saying the heaviest snow is yet to ramp up.
He says everybody needs to stay off the roads so they can have space to clear
snow off the ground.
Grayson says the department has been pre-salting and brining the roads days
before the snow started.
