People across New York City are enjoying the warm temperatures that are unusual for December.
However, some store owners say the unseasonable temperatures are hurting sales.
At Van Nest Hardware, sales of shovels, ice salts and other snow supplies are way below what they were this time last year.
"Last year, I think we had re-stocked shovels by now and we had gone through our second re-stocking of calcium chloride and rock salts," says owner William Pedone. "We're behind last year. We have people who think ahead and people who just buy it when they need it."
However, the owner says he is not too worried and believes shovel sales will go up in the next few weeks.
