State and local leaders held a Memorial Day ceremony Friday in Bridgeport to pay tribute to the country's fallen heroes, but also front-line workers who are making a sacrifice on the home front during the pandemic.
The ceremony was held a Lakeview Cemetery on the Upper East Side of Bridgeport where 500 American flags mark the plots where heroes of the US military have been laid to rest.
State and local leaders commemorated the occasion at a ceremony.
Among those for whom Memorial Day weekend has special meaning, Tom and Dorene Norko, whose son, U.S. Airman Lawrence Manlipit, of Bridgeport, was killed two years ago in a car crash in Idaho on I-84.
