WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Blustery winds will move through the region throughout the day, making the temps feel several degrees colder than the actual air temps.
Sunny skies will be found throughout the day today and tomorrow as well.
A cold night is on the way tonight with frost advisories popping up for some of the northern counties.
Winds back down heading into Saturday where there shall be plenty of sunshine and seasonal temps to follow. It is the Pick of the Week!
Sunday is trending a little warmer than Saturday, but we'll see an increase in winds as a rain chance creeps up for the evening hours.
After a rainy start to Monday, drier air moves in along with breezy winds heading into Tuesday.

A new drought monitor is out today, and parts of the Hudson Valley continue to experience drought conditions. Several counties are at level 1 out of 4 on the drought monitor, indicating a "moderate drought."
Here's the county-by-county breakdown:
  • Ulster: No drought, abnormally dry
  • Dutchess: Moderate drought along the Putnam County border; much of the rest is abnormally dry
  • Sullivan: No drought, abnormally dry
  • Orange: About 80% of the county is in a moderate drought
  • Putnam: Entire county is in a moderate drought
  • Rockland: Entire county is in a moderate drought
  • Westchester: Western half of the county is in a moderate drought; eastern half is abnormally dry
Thanks to this week's nor'easter, 2.11 inches of rain were recorded, putting Westchester County Airport in a surplus for October. However, for the Meteorological Autumn season, precipitation is still below average.
In White Plains, where data is recorded for the Hudson Valley, 5.72 inches of rain have fallen since September 1st. Normally, 7.18 inches would have been expected by this point.
