An outdoor florist adjusted his business plan Friday to counter the cold and capitalize on Valentine's Day business.
Lauro Cruz is a curbside flower vendor in Soundview. He says he rented a van to keep his pop-up shop open Friday as temperatures dropped into the teens.
The van helps him keep himself and the flowers from freezing.
Cruz says the cold has driven sales down compared to last year's lead up to Valentine's Day. He plans on staying open until 8 p.m. Friday, well after sunset, to make up business.
