The Broadway corridor in the Riverdale-Kingsbridge area is getting some new retail options.
Construction has already begun on a full strip mall in the 24,000-square-foot space.
The strip mall is something residents have been pushing for over the past five years. They say the corridor is an up-and-coming spot that needs retail stores for families.
Currently, there are stores like Staples, BJs and TJ Maxx, along with some local restaurants.
Community board leaders say there will be a storage facility in the back and retail space in the front. They say both should be ready by the second half of next year.
