A study released this week shows STDs are on the rise in New York City, and particularly in the Bronx.

The city's Department of Health and Hygiene released a report that shows higher STD rates in each borough from infections including syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia, which is the most prevalent of them all.

The study highlighted Crotona and Mott Haven as two neighborhoods with the highest rates of chlamydia in the city, along with Central Harlem.

Evelyn Ramos works at the Pathways Center for Comprehensive Care at St. Barnabas Hospital, and says that people engaging in risky behavior is the root of the problem. The hospital provides screenings, counseling and HIV/STD testing.

The city's health department is preparing to respond to the report with a social media campaign and an increased presence on buses, subways and in health centers.
