Summer Rising campaign set to start Monday to vaccinate young people

Vaccination rates for children are at 44% in New York with around 60% of DOE workers receiving at least one dose of a vaccine.

New York City is ramping up efforts to get more young people vaccinated.
Fort Hamilton High School in Bay Ridge will be offering coronavirus vaccines starting Monday.
It is one of 25 Summer Rising vaccination sites attempting to make vaccines available for children over the age of 12.
The campaign also hopes to get Department of Education employees vaccinated.
Vaccination rates for children are at 44% in New York, with around 60% of DOE workers receiving at least one dose of a vaccine.
Herbert H. Lehman High School in the Bronx is also serving as a vaccination site.
The DOE says students must be at least 12 years old to get the Pfizer vaccine, and anyone under the age of 15 has to be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
