A violent Throggs Neck robbery attempt that ended in the death of a 66-year-old man has been officially ruled a homicide.
Police say the two suspects approached Wesley James outside his home on Sept. 18.
During the attack, they struck him in the face with such force that he fell and hit his head on the concrete.
The duo fled the scene empty-handed after rummaging through his pockets.
The head injury James sustained ultimately led to his death around two months later.
News 12 attended his
funeral in November, where his family continued their pleas for justice.
The suspects involved remain at large. Anyone with additional information is urged to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
