The countdown is on: Carnival celebration kickoff sets the tone ahead of West Indian Day Parade
We are just a few weeks from Brooklyn’s iconic West Indian Day Parade, but on Thursday night, some are already gearing up for the big day with a Carnival celebration kickoff.
Live soca music, Caribbean pride and residents showing off their moves were all part of the celebration before the big day.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams got in on the fun in Crown Heights, too.
But this was all just a preview for Labor Day on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights.
