If you’re headed out, you definitely need a jacket as the cold weather lingers over the city.

From Oct. 1 through May 31 landlords in NYC are required by city law to provide heat to tenants. If your landlord does not provide heat, the city encourages residents to file a 311 complaint.

If temperatures fall below 55 degrees outside from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. it is required to be 68 degrees inside. Overnight, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., it should always be 62 degrees.

The city says 994 complaints have already been reported this year.
