According to the New York and New Jersey Port Authority, these new rates will apply to those traveling through the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the George Washington, Bayonne and Goethals bridges, as well the Outerbridge Crossing.
It also says cash payments will no longer be accepted going forward.
Those traveling during peak hours, which are 6-10 a.m. and 4-8 p.m. on weekdays and 11a.m.-9 p.m. on weekends, can expect the E-ZPass tolls costs to rise from $13.75 to $14.75. During off-peak-hours, that price will increase from $11.75 to $12.75.
The agency says this fare hike was triggered by the high rate of inflation.
Discounts are still available if you have an E-ZPass account through the New York and New Jersey Customer Service Center.
