Legal Services NYC is working to improve how city schools support students that have faced trauma.
With the summer almost wrapping up, experts, administrators and parents gathered at the Bronx Museum of the Arts to address student trauma Wednesday.

The town hall gave parents and students the opportunity to share their experiences, hear from experts about the impact childhood trauma has on learning and development and take part in an open discussion on what can be done to give students the services they need.
Experts say in the Bronx, the types of trauma students face vary from rape, sexual assault, food instability to even community violence.

Experts say by having discussions like these, parents and school administrators can better provide for students in the borough.
