An urgent care for kids in the Bronx is now a coronavirus testing site.
In the week since PM Pediatrics started testing for COVID-19, at least 20 people have received the free nasal swab. However, nationwide they have administered more than 2,000 of them.
Results take about two days, according to Dr. Christina Johns. The Senior Medical Advisor for the urgent care chain says if you’re feeling symptoms, there are two ways to find out if you need to schedule a test.
“We have everybody undergo a screening process, either on our virtual visit platform - PM pediatrics anywhere - or at a quick in-office visit to make sure they are appropriate for testing. And then you can drive right up, have a quick trip in and be done with it right away,” said Dr. Johns.
“We do feel it is our job in the community to test as many people as is appropriate and as we can, so there are plans for that and I'll leave it for that, stay tuned for more,” said Dr. Johns.
