The New York City Parks Department is working on a $200,000 project to upgrade the plaza and veterans monument at Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park in Throgs Neck.
The park overlooks the water along Weir Creek.
The renovations include new granite flooring and an enlargement of paths near the ramparts.
Councilman James Vacca is behind the Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park Beautification Project and says it should be completed by the end of the year.
