A violent robbery on Friday night left a 63-year old man unconscious lying on the floor of his apartment lobby.
The robbery happened inside a lobby near 182nd street and Grand Concourse around 8 p.m. on Friday.
Police say the suspect followed the man into his apartment building and punched him in the face with such force that the man lost consciousness.
When the man hit the ground, the suspect stole $40 from his pocket.
The suspect is described as about 5’9”, about 250 pounds, and was last seen carrying a red bag.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a concussion and a swollen eye.
