Students at Dimitrios and Georgia Kaloidis Parochial School are now among the many participating in virtual learning programs.
More than 200 students, from pre-K through eighth grade, are able to log into their virtual classrooms to meet with their teachers and fellow classmates. The students follow a schedule similar to a normal day of school that allows students to learn the same curriculum, and it even includes a lunch break.

The staff tells News 12 that after monitoring the coronavirus outbreak, they began preparing to close the school and transition to online learning in only three days, giving out electronic devices to students who needed them.
While students are home, the school custodians have been working to sanitize the entire school.
The school says the virtual learning program is temporary but that they are prepared to continue the program for as long as they feel it is necessary.
