Water was restored to Van Nest homes a day after a massive main break.
By noon Friday, the once bone-dry fire hydrants on Hunt Avenue began flowing with water again.
Department of Environmental Protection crews said they we're having trouble finding the leak Thursday with record-breaking rain getting in the way. Field operators we're able to locate the leak on Friday morning, after closing off the entire street and excavating with dump trucks.
The massive scene caused damage, even two blocks down from where Maree Singh lives. When she called to find out what happened, 311 couldn't tell her why.
“They had no clue about it," she said.
It's unclear when the road will reopen, but for now it remains closed as crews begin to fill in the massive hole.
