Mayor Eric Adams announced a plan Monday to tackle New York City's illegal dumping and littering.
Mayor Adams said in a tweet $22 million will be going toward a litter basket service, $7.5 million to eliminate illegal dumping and $4.5 million for cleaning of vacant lots.
Trash cans will also be emptied "50,000 more times" a week.
The Department of Sanitation New York is currently
accepting applications for those interested. The deadline is set for June 30.
