Dry and calm weather continues overnight and into the first half of Thursday. Expect mostly clear skies overnight with a few clouds.
We are desperately in need of some rain! Portions of our borough are in a moderate drought. In general, it is very dry out there, which can exacerbate the potential for wildfires to start, especially when combined with warm weather and wind.
Thursday will bring gusts of between 20-30 mph, which could easily spread any wildfires that do start. There is some rain on the way. Late Thursday, into early Friday morning we could see a few rounds of showers and the potential for thunderstorms.
For our borough, it doesn't look like severe weather is a concern. However, roads could be slippery from rain during the evening commute and potentially into the early parts of Friday's commute. Friday will improve throughout the day in terms of rain.
We are also looking to see rain and storms on Saturday which could linger into Sunday.
Temperatures for Thursday are in the higher 70s and low 80s. It will be breezy and gusty, which will help some, but humidity is going to make it feel on the sticky side. We're entering a more humid and warmer next several days. Friday temperatures will climb to the low 80s and even more into the first half of the weekend. By Sunday, we will be back in cooler and more fall like temperatures, which are expected to stick around heading into next week.
