Stargazers in the Garden State gathered around the state Monday for a special viewing of a rare, once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse celestial event.
Now that the astronomy party on the path of totality is over, what do you do with those solar eclipse glasses after the eclipse is over? Instead of throwing them away, you can donate your glasses.
Be Kind, a charity organization in Robbinsville, is collecting new and gently used solar eclipse glasses for donation to Eclipse Glasses USA’s give-back program. The glasses will then be donated to school-aged children in Latin America ahead of their October 2024 eclipse.
The organization is asking those with solar eclipse glasses to donate theirs at 36 Pickering Drive (in the mailbox) or 19 Opal Drive, Robbinsville. For more information, click here.
The next total solar eclipse in New York will not happen again until 2079.
