A White Plains teen is walking on crutches and has a fractured foot after an interaction with police.
It happened Saturday afternoon at 225 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in White Plains.
The father of the 13-year-old eighth grader spoke with News 12.
"The ultimate concern is the safety of my child. I just want to make sure she’s good," said Clifton Moody.
Moody said his daughter called police for help while having a panic attack but then ran from officers when they arrived because she had a previous interaction with one of the officers on Christmas Eve and was afraid.
"If someone is having a mental episode why would you want to put them in handcuffs, and if you are restraining them why are you tackling them you holding them in a position?" Moody said.
The White Plains Police Department confirms they've been in contact with Clifton who has now filed a complaint.
It is not commenting on the incident but say they are investigating.
Clifton said he spoke out about the incident in hopes that this doesn't happen to another teen.
