Rain and wind eased up Friday after a messy morning commute earlier today.

The first day of winter brought warmer temperatures, but also brought heavy rains, winds and coastal flooding.

The heavy winds and rain caused a tree to come down in Kingsbridge this morning, taking several wires along with it.

Police blocked off several streets across the borough to clean up the downed trees.

The rain was nonstop down pouring for most of the morning.
