A 20-year-old woman is being held without bail in connection to the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man who was found in his bedroom on Southern Boulevard, police say.
Police charged Kayla Moreno with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Jose Hart. They arrested her around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday and she appeared at her arraignment later in the day.
According to an affidavit, Hart took a video of Moreno performing oral sex on him and sent it to her friends last Friday. It goes on to say that Moreno and her friends plotted to rob Hart Saturday.
Authorities say Hart's mother found him with two gunshot wounds to the chest on Sunday after she came home from church. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police say Moreno admitted to opening the door for several men and waiting in their car until they returned from Hart's apartment with his TV, shoes and jacket.
Police say they found two bullet casings in the room, and they are looking for three male suspects that they say can be seen on surveillance video.
Hart had four prior arrests on charges that included larceny. According to his social media accounts, he attended Lehman High School.
Police say Moreno had no previous arrests. Her next court date is Nov. 25.
