A local author and businesswoman wants to empower girls and young women by telling stories from women who are making moves but have faced challenges.
Darlene Williams is the founder of a three-part series called “The Higher-Level Method Success Stories on How to Master Your Business and Life Goals” and “The Higher-Level Method: What Would I Tell My Younger Self?” volumes 1 and 2.
"When we go through things as women, we tend to think we are the only ones. We feel isolated. We are really good at looking good through our mess,” said Williams. "The whole idea is for women to pick this book up and say, ‘Wow, I am not the only one. I may not have gone through that, but I have been going through something, I am going through something now and I didn't even realize that was an option.'"
India Rose is one of the powerhouse women featured in the series. She is the owner of a motivational sports and streetwear company named “Sideline” in Martha’s Vineyard and says mentorship in this way is critical.
Williams says her goal is to help women and girls go through their own paths.
