Artist Sarah Butler is carefully balancing her life as a
mother, a wife, and a full-time worker – and it's all paying off in the
Big Apple.
Last
year, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority sought out her now
signature work.
“I
remember I got that email at my desk and just started sweating. This was a big
one," she told News 12.
Her
MTA card included illustrations of 25 subway-related sights. They were sold as
merch and the Bingo cards were displayed on MTA screens throughout November.
She’s
hoping her signature artwork will continue to attract more publications – like
the cover of The New Yorker.
