Three Stratford World War II veterans were honored at Town Hall on Tuesday in a unique way.
The veterans were joined with family and friends as they were presented with unique quilts created by Quilts of Valor.
This was no mere handoff, each of the vets were wrapped in their quilts, creating an unforgettable moment for them.
"I want to spread it out, frame it. I think it's great, it's a great gift and thank you very, very much," said Roy Friedman.
The organization that makes the quilts says they hope the blankets end up on a favorite recliner or sofa and get a lot of use. They were made by quilters from throughout the country.
