Some pitchers from the New York Yankees dressed up as superheroes Thursday to help an organization that specializes in helping others during Hope Week.
The event was to honor of the work done by Moment of Magic, a program founded three years ago by two students at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
The Moment of Magic volunteers dress up in costumes and visit sick children in hospitals and at their homes. Their mission is to lift the children’s spirits.
The 40 volunteers from the College of Mount Saint Vincent have visited more than 5,000 sick children over the past two years.
At the event, Yankees’ CC Sabathia dressed up as Superman, and Jordan Montgomery dressed up as Captain America.
The Yankees contributed $10,000 to a Moment of Magic which will help the program expand to 10 more colleges next year.
