The
city opened 10 vaccine hubs across New York City for New York’s youngest to
receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The
Brooklyn Children’s Museum, one of those 10 hubs, is planning to host a big
welcoming event for kids 6 months through 5 years old on Thursday. Both federal
and city officials will be at the site to answer any questions/concerns for
parents.
The
White House COVID-19 Response Team and federal public health officials are set
to meet Thursday to give an update on the vaccine rollout plan and give clarity
on vaccine safety.
This
new young age group’s eligibility opens the door for 20 million more children
to get vaccinated.
According
to the health commissioner, New York City has received about 20,000 pediatric
vaccine doses so far, with another shipment expected soon.
Appointments
can be made at one of the city’s vaccine hubs, such as NYC Health +
Hospitals/Gotham Health.
