A 10-year-old girl is speaking out after police say a man attacked her on her way to school in the Bronx.

Zoe says she was walking along East 176th Street last Thursday morning when a man approached her, demanded her chain and ripped it from her neck before slapping her.

“He turned around, said ‘give me that chain,' and then snatched it," she said.

The attack left her with bruises on her neck and a fear of walking to school alone.

Zoe says she had begged her parents to let her walk to school by herself, but after the assault, she’s too scared to try again.

"My grandpa walks me to and from school every day now,” she said.

Police ask anyone with information to call their Crime Stoppers tip line.
