5ds agoLocal leaders and anti-gun violence groups united in Fordham on Wednesday to call for an end to gun violence.
It comes after an 18-year-old was shot this past weekend at East 182nd Street between Morris and Creston avenues.
Members of Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence (BRAG) chanted and passed out educational flyers to let it be known that violence has no place in their community.
“The message is that we together, we can overcome violence that’s happening,” said BRAG representative David Caba. “Anyone that knows a young person involved in these activities that lead to these type of acts, we have services for them in the many BRAG locations in the Bronx.”
The 18-year-old who was shot is expected to be OK and is currently recovering.
