A librarian in the Bronx has a certain way of getting kids hooked on reading.

Reading with Ruth Rodriguez is more like a party then a typical visit to the library.

Growing up in New York, Rodriguez always had a love for libraries.

"Spent all of my college career basically inside of the art section of the library," says Rodriguez.

Now she says she works to bridge the gap literacy and reading and making art and creating.

She even runs an art activity every Tuesday at the Francis Martin Library.

"The idea of a librarian has shifted a little bit, so it is not just that we are here just to share the books, which is very important, but we are also here to share with the community," says Rodriguez.
