Bridgeport police: 2 arrested on drug trafficking and weapons charges

Two people were arrested Wednesday in part of an undercover investigation involving drugs and guns carried out by the Bridgeport Police Department.

Two people were arrested Wednesday in part of an undercover investigation involving drugs and guns carried out by the Bridgeport Police Department.
Members of the Bridgeport Police Narcotics and Vice Division Shakeil Williams, 30, of Bridgeport and Jonathan J. Bonaparte, 34, of Derby – saying they “engaged in activity consistent with the trafficking of street level narcotics.”
According to Bridgeport police:
“Bonaparte’s vehicle was stopped on Charles Street near its intersection with Madison Ave. where he was unable to produce the requisite paperwork for the vehicle he was operating.  During the motor vehicle stop, Officers also observed a plastic bag of Fentanyl by the vehicle's gear shifter.  Bonaparte was placed under arrest.  Additional narcotics were taken off his person to include heroin, crack cocaine, and cocaine.  Bonaparte is listed on Connecticut’s Deadly Weapon Offender Registry.  Two boxes of ammunition were located in the trunk of his vehicle.  Narcotics and Vice Officers then secured a search warrant for his residence in Derby. 4 Handguns, 1 shotgun, and 1 assault rifle were seized from his residence, along with 8 high-capacity magazines which included 1 drum magazine.  An arrest warrant was secured and served upon Bonaparte for items seized from his apartment.”
Bonaparte was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of narcotics.  He was given a verbal warning for motor vehicle violations. Bond was set at $150,000.
Bridgeport police say Williams’ vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Wells Street and North Avenue.
“Williams was in possession crack cocaine and heroin.  A search warrant was secured for his residence within the city. Seized from Williams’ residence was crack cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), and crystal meth.”
Williams was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and operation of a drug factory. His bond was set at $100,000.”
An arrest warrant was also obtained for Shomequa Allen, 28. She shares a home with Bonaparte in Derby with their 2-year-old child. She was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor.
