The Bronx Night Market marked its grand finale in Fordham Plaza on Saturday.

The market opened in 2017 and became a Bronx staple for foodies. Organizers said they wanted community members to experience unique flavors and cultures.

Founder Marco Shalma told News 12 there were several reasons that led to the decision, including safety concerns for the vendors and difficulties securing local sponsorship.

Saturday’s final event featured over 40 vendors and included a variety of foods like Colombian grill, fried ice cream, hot dogs, and Jamaican jerk chicken.

The Bronx Night Market team said that in their seven years of operating, they hoped to leave a lasting mark and celebrate the Bronx's essence and resilience.

"We feel very accomplished. We've done something historical, but at the same time, it's sad that it's coming to an end," Shalma said.
