Election Day is 10 days away, but some New York residents aren’t waiting to make their voices heard. Early voting kicked off today across the city, giving people a chance to get it done early before the big day.

In Soundview, residents stopped by their local poll sites to cast their ballots on day one. This year’s ballot includes Andrew Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa, setting up what many are calling a big political showdown.

Early voting runs through Nov. 2, giving everyone the flexibility to choose a date and time that works best for them. Poll hours vary by location, so election officials are reminding voters to double check before heading out.

For many residents, this election feels personal with choices that could shape everyday life across the city for years to come.
