The city's 500th electric car charging station was unveiled Wednesday to some Bronx high schoolers who are learning to drive electric vehicles for their driver's education class.
The city has about 1,300 electric vehicles, topped with solar panels, that hook up to the solar-powered charging stations.
Students were able to charge the electric cars, and some even got behind the wheel.
The students will start learning to drive the cars in their class beginning this Friday.
