Brooklyn school unveils student artwork mural to celebrate end of year

McKinley Junior High School in Bay Ridge honored their students' artwork in a mural unveiling Friday.
About 150 students in six classes participated in the design and production of the mural alongside artists from Thrive Collective.
"We live in a time where it's so easy to define what separates," says Jeremy Del Rio, co-founder of Thrive Collective. "It's much harder to figure out what unites and then be able to pull it off."
The event also celebrated the achievements of the students in the school's virtual enterprise program. They won first place at the national business pitch competition this year.
As the eighth graders now head to high school, their mark will remain on the walls of McKinley for years to come.
