A woman has been hospitalized after being struck by an MTA bus in University Heights this afternoon. Police say a 23-year-old Hispanic woman was hit by a Bx36 bus as it made a right turn onto the 181st Bridge. She was rushed to Lincoln Hospital with head, leg and foot injuries, and suffered a concussion and broken hip. Residents say motorists always speed over the bridge, rarely stopping for pedestrians. They say a stop sign or traffic light may be necessary to avoid future accidents. Bx36 service was delayed from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. following the crash, but has since resumed on schedule.
