A high surf advisory remains for large breaking waves in the surf zone 6 to 9 feet.
While many Jersey Shore beaches are reopening, swimming is still prohibited due to rough surf and life-threatening rip currents.
There is a coastal flood warning for 1 to 2 feet of inundation in low-lying areas near shorelines and back bays through Saturday morning.
