For over a year, the mom-and-pop drug store, the Purple Specialty Pharmacy, has been unable to fill prescriptions.
For the last few months, the shop on the corner of West Farms Road has been dealing with insurance issues and a scary break-in that left the pharmacy with thousands of dollars' worth of damages.
“Apparently, they knew where they were going," said Andrea Beltre, president of Purple Specialty Pharmacy. "They knew a little bit of the layout of the pharmacy, so I don’t think this is the first time that they did it.”
Beltre knew how important a pharmacy was to the community, and decided to push forward.
“There's no other pharmacies around the area, so this is a service that is really needed and expected," said Beltre.
