Curbside composting will become the norm across the Bronx in two months - and you can participate for free.

The city's Department of Sanitation says compost bins will accept anything from your kitchen or garden, including food scraps to lawn clippings and paper products that have been stained.

The agency is offering the brown bins used for composting free of charge for Bronx residents. They can be placed next to your recycling bins and they'll be picked up with recycling on the same day.
